Public Engagement Regarding the Future of School Facilities in Fairview

To the Parents and Community Members of Fairview,
The Peace River School Division (PRSD) Board of Trustees is inviting you to join us for a public engagement exercise regarding a crucial decision about the future of our school facilities in Fairview. We have been asked by the Premier of Alberta to present a clear vision for the future of education in your community, and to do this effectively, we need your valuable input.
Your voice is essential as we work to formulate a plan that will best serve our students for years to come. To ensure our recommendation accurately reflects the needs and hopes of the community, we are hosting a public meeting to share the viable options for our school facilities and the factors influencing those possibilities.
Community Engagement Session
- Date: Tuesday, September 9, 2025
- Time: 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Location: E.E. Oliver Elementary School
During this session, we will present a detailed overview of the various options and explain why certain approaches are more viable than others. Following the presentation, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide your feedback directly to the Board of Trustees.
Your attendance is incredibly important. The Board will meet with PRSD staff in Fairview, as well as representatives from the Town and MD of Fairview and from Northwestern Polytechnic, earlier on the same day. This community engagement session is the final step in gathering all the necessary input before we must finalize our recommendation to the Premier by September 30.
We look forward to a productive and collaborative discussion. Together, we can build a strong and sustainable future for education in Fairview.
Sincerely,
Crystal Owens, Board Chair
Peace River School Division Board of Trustees
